MoneyGram launches global digital payments platform combining online transfers and cash services

MoneyGram has launched an updated global digital payments platform, bringing international money transfers, digital balances, and cash access together through its mobile application and website.

Announced on 19 October 2026, the new MoneyGram Online experience is designed to simplify how customers send, receive, hold, and use money across international borders.

The platform combines digital financial services with MoneyGram’s existing physical retail network, allowing customers to move between online payments and cash services.

Expanding Digital Payment Capabilities

The updated MoneyGram app and website provide customers with access to a wider range of financial services through a single platform.

Users can send money internationally to bank accounts, debit cards, digital wallets, retail locations, and other MoneyGram app users, depending on availability in individual markets.

The platform also supports bill payments, mobile phone top-ups, and digital balances.

In selected markets, customers can maintain a stable US dollar-denominated balance, supported by stablecoin technology operating behind the scenes.

MoneyGram says the integration is designed to make blockchain-based payment infrastructure accessible without requiring customers to manage the underlying technology themselves.

“Global money movement has become increasingly fragmented, forcing consumers to navigate different systems depending on how they want to pay, receive or use their money,” said Anthony Soohoo, Chairman and CEO of MoneyGram.

“We’re changing that. MoneyGram is bringing digital money movement, cash access and stablecoin-powered services together in one connected experience. Consumers get more choice and greater control over how they send, receive, hold and use their money, wherever they are.”

Connecting Digital and Physical Payment Networks

The launch builds on MoneyGram’s international payments infrastructure, which spans more than 200 countries and territories.

According to the company, its network connects customers to more than five billion digital endpoints, including bank accounts, payment cards, and digital wallets, alongside nearly 500,000 physical retail locations worldwide.

The updated platform also enables customers in the United States to send money directly to MoneyGram app users in selected markets, including Colombia and El Salvador.

Recipients can manage funds digitally while retaining access to cash withdrawal services where available.

MoneyGram says the development represents a shift towards a more connected payments network, allowing customers to manage funds beyond individual international transfers.

Supporting Global Financial Connectivity

The company’s updated digital infrastructure provides a common technology foundation across its app, website, and digital balance services.

This allows MoneyGram to introduce new capabilities across different markets while adapting services to local languages, payment methods, and regulatory requirements.

The platform supports 40 languages and is designed to accommodate different customer payment preferences.

The updated MoneyGram app and website are now available across supported markets globally.

The launch marks another stage in MoneyGram’s digital transformation, combining established international cash transfer services with modern financial technology and blockchain-supported payments.
